rusty tracing skills part 4: meshed up

Working with Adobe Illustrator’s gradient mesh tool is a lot more tedious and time consuming than was expected, but the results so far have been pretty good. [ The last time I’ve used the tool was back in 2003 when I worked on packaging design/illustration…that was a lot easier considering I didn’t need to make it look painterly or lifelike ]

I’m working on the piece from left to right, top to bottom. I started off with one large, flesh colored block then slowly added additional mesh points/colors.
