I didn’t actually eat that Churros cereal, but I brought it to work and chicks seem to dig it.

typographic shoes

04/24/2014 by alaundre

35th Anniversary Edition of Adidas’s classic Superstar sneakers, designed by Underworld/Tomato. I managed to get a lightly used one recently in my size (I probably wouldn’t wear it that much either) . Which kind of begs the question, if I wasn’t going to actually wear it, why did I have to wait for the right size? Made with 3M reflective material but used in a much more subtle manner. It’s certainly more subdued than the more recent Air Jordans that […]

pogeybait by daniel clowes

A character from Daniel Clowes’ “Eightball” series. He is a roommate of Zubrick who is always in underwear and socks ONLY. Sometimes he wears a shirt and bow-tie, or a fur coat over his usual attire when he goes out. He is very cheerful, happy, and optimistic all the time. He is our favorite character. . .and we know that he is to all of the Eightball fans. And even for non-Eightball readers, this doll will also appeal with its […]

you are what you eat

Doubling up on some cannibal flicks in the battle of Most Appetizing Adaptations. Do you prefer originals or remakes? Hardline anti-remake? Not aware that there is an original foreign version, or not care at all? Spoilerfic breakdown comparison on what’s the same and what has changed in both versions after the break (along with many pictures of food I’ve been gobbling up the past few months)

book of lists

04/06/2014 by alaundre

it smells like really old paper….or it had been in a smoker’s home for decades says me when i opened the package Picked up an old book from my childhood, certainly not children’s reading material, in almost the exact same condition as when I originally read it (I think the original that I read was even more faded than this one, though it might have been a softcover because I remember the corner of the pages being curled or creased). […]

Repo Man

04/05/2014 by alaundre

Criterion Collection Blu Ray Edition   A quintessential cult film of the 1980s, Alex Cox’s singular sci-fi comedy stars the always captivating Harry Dean Stanton (Paris, Texas) as a weathered repo man in desolate downtown Los Angeles, and Emilio Estevez (The Breakfast Club) as the nihilistic middle-class punk he takes under his wing. The job becomes more than either of them bargained for when they get involved in reclaiming a mysterious—and otherworldly—Chevy Malibu with a hefty reward attached to it. […]
