with the neon lights bright…

07/08/2015 by alaundre

Neon Sign Museum  |  Las Vegas Nevada Originally wanted to take a late afternoon tour so that I could use the sunset as a lighting effect, but the only available tour schedule I could fit into was the evening tour the day I was there.  I was unsure about how well the signs would look at night considering only a few of the old neon signs are actually operational, but the lighting setup at the tour was great. It was […]

07/08/2015 by alaundre

Fremont Street Experience : learn more about it here View larger images ( minus the experience )  : alaundre : gallery Extra and alternate images not included in the Gallery below :   I’ve passed by this place before but it was usually after midnight when the festivities have ended. I did remember seeing it featured in U2’s video, but other than that, was unaware what it actually looked like first hand what was i looking for again?

shoot and book it

03/27/2015 by alaundre

If a picture is worth a thousand words, What would a book of random pictures be? Stream of Consciousness writing or incoherent ramblings? | #undecided just testing out various photobook offerings (with some of the same images) to check out print quality, binding etc. before deciding on a specific theme or concept. Or maybe just stll keep it random, who knows…     Still trying to amass photos for this idea below. Used jpgs directly from my camera without any post […]

turning your digital camera into a cheap retro crappy shooting camera

12/01/2013 by alaundre

Plastic lenses for Micro Four Thirds Digital Cameras, this is what can be described, using John Stewart’s words, “a thing that ruins your pictures”. Searching for that dreamy analogue look of Lomography or other vintage/retro Russian cameras, without the hassles of developing film. While these lenses do give you the unpredictability of the point and shoot cameras of yesteryear with the added comfort of seeing what you just shot…it does take quite a bit of finagling of the digital camera’s […]

got a new camera

03/11/2013 by alaundre

to replace my old, very first lumix camera. the new gx1 has a 16:9 mode, but that mode actually just crops your picture. size comparison between the two: still haven’t learned to really use it. some test shots taken indoors early morning, most of the blinds were closed. first and last shot was in toy camera mode (in the last shot i cropped the photo so you don’t see the dark heavy vignetting)
