rusty tracing skills part 3 : now with hair

– day 3: recolored some areas to get a bit more detail/contrast, revamped the lineart and added hair (a few times) . still need to fix the mouth, probably do it in Adobe Illustrator to get cleaner lines (next step is to make a vector version anyway) hmmm…the eyes look sadder/sleepier in the colored pencil version.

rusty tracing skills part 2 : now in color

– nothing really creative at this point, technique or composition wise. edit: might have to rework the neck and chin. Prismacolor colored pencil on tracing paper (line art on tracing paper underneath) . Line art using Pigma Micron 005 (0.2 mm) pen on tracing paper (colored pencil illustration underneath) . . this one i think was from 8 or so years ago, but only in a 3×3″ size: . : also see previous post :

– haven’t done much illustrating in a long while… using a .5 mm mechanical pencil on a 12×18 inch tracing paper is not really a good combination. just trying to get my hand/fingers used to drawing again. . . to be continued…the plan is to have a mixed media version of this (colored pencil/ink and a bit of photoshop) and also a vector version using Adobe Illustrator (to see if i can do a photorealistic vector illustration).
