Can’t find much info on the web to explain this, but essentially traditional Philippine ice cream flavors are made using coconut milk instead of dairy milk. Yes, milk from coconut that’s also used to make curry. Wiki on coconut milk here.
Just like with tacos etc, the real, authentic street version of this dessert tastes so much better than what I could find at the asian grocery store here. Couldn’t find an image of that on google either. I’m talking specifically about the ones that come in like a keg/metal canister encased in wood or bamboo ( I don’t really know if those are still available anyway ).
